A high protein diet is a good way to stay slim. This diet is in fact already being praised by notable celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Sofia Vergara, and Kate Hudson.

According to a study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, diets high in protein makes you feel fuller longer. It means that could help you to lose weight or stay slim.

For this study, they have analyzed 33 previous studies conducted on protein intake. As a result, it was found that those who do high protein diets are more likely to know when they stop eating.

They also found something interesting, that eating a high protein snack, make people feel more full than those who eat snacks low in protein or don't eat snacks at all.

"The Protein takes longer to digest than carbohydrates and fat, so surely the protein helps keep you feeling full," says dietitian-nutritionist, Karen Ansel, as reported by the pages of Glamour, yesterday.
"This is done by changing a certain hunger hormone ghrelin and cholecystokinin-like," he said.

Ghrelin is a hormone that tells that you are hungry. When you eat protein, you produce less ghrelin and at the same time, the protein increases the secretion of cholecystokinin, a hormone that slows digestion, so that your stomach empty more slowly.

"Protein requires more energy to digest than carbohydrates or fats, thus helping you lose weight naturally," said Ansel.

Eat a high protein snack before a meal, about one hour before you plan to eat, can help so you don't starve. Let's try it!
